The Problem

Summary: Mental health stigma is severe in Sierra Leone; many trauma victims refuse to visit physical facilities like the Kissy Psychiatric Hospital for fear of being labeled "crazy," while private therapy is unaffordable and requires expensive high-speed internet. The Problem: How can a young person seek professional help without their community knowing? Why must mental healthcare require high-speed internet when most users only have basic data? How can we create a "clinic in the cloud" that guarantees total privacy?

Proposed Solution

Build an Anonymous, Low-Bandwidth Therapy Platform. Unlike Western apps that rely on expensive live video, this platform uses Asynchronous Voice Notes and Text (similar to WhatsApp) to connect users with verified counselors. It prioritizes data privacy and functions seamlessly on 3G networks. Hackathon Deliverable: A functional mobile web app (PWA) where a user can sign up with an avatar (no real names), select a topic (e.g., "Trauma," "Addiction"), and exchange encrypted voice notes/texts with a simulated counselor dashboard.
